Mrs Mulled Wine's Christmas Countdown - 8 weeks to go

I'll begin this post by saying that there may not be a Christmas Countdown next week. It's half term this week and we're travelling all over so I'm not sure I'll have time to write anything. If there isn't a post next week, I'll be back the following week with double the news to share.

My Christmas Wish List

I thought I'd share a couple of gifts I've been lusting after this week. The Byker Revisited book has been on my Christmas list ever since I saw the exhibition at the Baltic as part of the Exhibition of the North this summer. I am fascinated by the photography and the stories each picture tells and as I grew up on a pretty rough council estate in Northumberland, the photos just really speak to me. At £30, it's pretty pricey but I think it's a book I'd really treasure forever. I especially love the photos of family life from the early 00s and can relate to a fair few of them.

Next up is something that my friend Dannielle (from While I'm Young) shared on her Instagram. A cabin case designed by fellow travel blogger, The Travel Hack. This cabin case is super stylish, lightweight and practical and as it's been designed by a frequent traveller, it's full of features you actually need when travelling hand luggage only too. I love that there's a dedicated handbag section for you to pop a smaller bag inside, a rear padded laptop compartment, a water bottle holder and an internal zipped compartment and packing straps. It looks fab and I'd expect a much larger price tag than £50. I'm heading to Marbella on a hen do next June and think this will be the perfect case.

I'd love to hear what you have on your Christmas list this year.

Primark Christmas Jumpers

Primark has released details of their 2018 Christmas jumpers. There are over 30 to choose from in total and no doubt I'll be kitting the kids out and treating us all to a new Christmas jumper mid-November. Here are my highlights:

LEGO Bestseller

If you or your kids love LEGO, this Fantastic Beasts Newt's Case of Magical Creatures set is on track to be one of this year's biggest sellers. It's pretty reasonably priced and perfect for ages 8-14.

The Best Hot Chocolate

I have been enjoying following my friend Chloe's quest to find the best hot chocolate in the North East. Chloe has taken her quest seriously and can be found sharing some of her best finds on Instagram each weekend. You can take a peek here, let me know where your favourite spot is. I can't wait for a winner to be declared so I can try it.

Finally before I go, I've just set up a shared Pinterest Board for Mrs Mulled Wine. If you love pinning Christmas stuff, I'd love you to join! If you'd like to, simply leave your Pinterest Email address as a comment on this post or message me on any Social Media and I'll add you.
